10 Days Kenya Family Expedition

You will depart from Nairobi in the morning to Amboseli National Park and arrive at Amboseli Serena Lodge in the lunch time. The park is famous for its big game and great scenic beauty that is dominated by Mount Kilimanjaro. After lunch, you will experience an afternoon game drive, and then followed by having a dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

Amboseli is famous for its big game and its great scenic beauty; the landscape is dominated by the towering Mount Kilimanjaro. The National Park embodies five main wildlife habitats (open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshland) and covers part of a Pleistocene lake basin, now dry. Within this basin is a temporary lake, Lake Amboseli, that floods during years of heavy rainfall.

You will depart Amboseli in the morning to have a game drive en route and arrive in Nairobi approximately at 13:00. You will enjoy a lunch at The Carnivore Restaurant, and later enjoy a walking safari at the entrance of Nairobi National Park. You will then go for a tour at the giraffe center, a plus for the children who will get the chance to feed the giraffes. Then, you will be dropped off at Nairobi Safari Club for an overnight stay.

You will depart from Nairobi in the morning and drive through the Kikuyu countryside to the lower slopes of Mount Kenya. Crossing the equator Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary, you will arrive at the Sweetwaters Tented Camp in the lunch time. You will then experience an afternoon game drive in the private reserve, including a visit to Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya. If the weather is permitting, you will enjoy a unique opportunity of observing the chimps by boat on the Ewaso Ngiro River. After that, you will return to Sweetwaters Tented Camp to have dinner and an overnight stay (with an optional night game drives).

After breakfast, you will drive down to the floor of the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park and make a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. You will arrive at the Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge in the lunch time, and followed by an afternoon game drive in the park.

Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approximately 400 other species of birds which visit the lake. Many species of games can be also found in the park including the introduced Rothschild giraffes, black and white rhinos, waterbuck, reedbucks, lions, buffalos, leopards, baboons, and many species of plains game. You will enjoy dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

You will experience another morning game drive in Nakuru, then depart to Naivasha and arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge in the lunch time. You will then enjoy an afternoon boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a walking safari at Crescent Island, one of the few places in the world where you can wander on foot amidst wild animals (there are no predators). After that, you will return to Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge for a dinner and an overnight stay.

You will depart your lodge after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara and arrive at Mara Serena Lodge in the lunch time. You will experience an afternoon game drive as you get a feel of this vast game filled reserve. After that, you will enjoy your dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

Two full days will be spent in Maasai Mara, Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, and elephants). There, you will experience morning and afternoon game drives with an optional visit to a local Maasai Village.

You will depart from Maasai Mara after breakfast and arrive in Nairobi approximately at 13:00. You will be dropped at your hotel or be transferred to the airport for your onward flights to the next destination.
