10 Days Tanzania Acacia Safari
Arusha - Tarangire - Ngorongoro - Serengeti - Arusha
Day One - Two
Arrival Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to tonight’s lodge in Arusha.
Arusha is a city in East Africa's Tanzania, located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It's a gateway to safari destinations and to Africa's highest peak, 5,895m Mt. Kilimanjaro, lying some 100 kilometers northeast. To the west lies Serengeti National Park, home to wildlife including lions, rhinoceros, giraffes and leopards. Annual migrations feature huge herds of wildebeests crossing its plains.
Days Three - Four
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park will be your destination for the next two days. Here, you and your family will catch your first thrilling glimpses of African wildlife. See lions bask in the sun, zebras lap up water from a pond, and leopards dash across the savannah. Kids will love a stop at a nearby lodge for a dip in the pool where elephants have been spotted taking a drink.
Days Five - Six
Ngorongoro Crater
On a morning drive to Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll stop at a local school so your kids can meet their Tanzanian pen pals. You can enjoy a hearty lunch at Gibb’s Farm before your journey continues. Once at tonight’s camp, which sits on the crater’s rim, you’ll have a chance to settle in and listen to your guide talk more about the history of this volcanic caldera
In the next morning, you’ll descend 2,000 feet below the camp to the crater’s floor. Your day here will be full of excitement as this 10-mile wide crater is home to the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa. You and your family can make a game of who can spot the greatest variety of animals.
Days Seven - Nine
Serengeti National Park
Next stop is Serengeti National Park. Along the way, you’ll stop at Olduvai Gorge, also known as “the Cradle of Mankind.” Your three days in the Serengeti are rich with wildlife viewing. Spot lions, cheetahs, crocodiles, and warthogs using the tracking skills your expert guide taught you. In the evenings, you will return to your camp and enjoy playing traditional Tanzanian games, sitting around the campfire, and sharing stories with fellow travelers.
The Serengeti National Park is the ultimate safari destination in the world. Few safari destinations are as exclusive, untouched or unique in their offerings. The park is known for its huge wildlife populations. White-bearded wildebeest, zebras and gazelle migrate annually during the great migration from the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania to the grasslands of the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of fresh grass.
Day Ten
Transfer to Arusha
Wave goodbye to the vast plains of the Serengeti on your flight back to Arusha. Enjoy shopping for some final souvenirs and relax in a day room before your evening flight home.
